More change happens in the first twelve weeks of a person’s life (in utero) than will ever happen in the rest of their life. The mother’s body is the home for this growth and development. If ever there was a time when Massage Therapy is indicated in a woman’s life it is certainly during the important time of pregnancy. It is from the mother’s health and well-being that the baby’s health and well-being is established.

Therapist Opportunity: As a Prenatal Massage Therapist you are able to support and nurture a woman and her baby during the formative time of pregnancy. Through therapeutic touch, education and awareness of a woman’s changing needs during the nine months of gestation, you are able to assist her to maintain health and wellness during pregnancy and feel prepared for labor and birth.

In this 7 hour class we will cover:

  • Overview Anatomy & Physiology of each trimester of pregnancy
  • Intake Interview and contraindications
  • Knowledge of Massage for normal pregnancy and birth
  • Positioning for Prenatal Massage in each trimester
  • Techniques for a prenatal sequence
  • Paired experiential work
  • Discussion & Post Test

Course fee is $150     8 CEUs

Payment Plan: $80 at registration; $70 one month before class starts


Rima Star

Rima Star is a therapist and educator with over thirty years experience, specializing in perinatal and pediatric therapy and continuing education for therapists, midwives, doulas and birth professionals. She helped pioneer water birth and the use of aquatic therapies for health and healing. She is the founder of the Perinatal Massage Specialist Program™ which includes prenatal, natal, post-natal and work with infants.
